Garageland Galaxyz at Cruinniú na nÓg – A Very Special Morning and afternoon of Music Industry Workshops!
Songwriting and rapping production with Amplify (Jack Lawlor)(19) – Jack featured on our very first Garageland Galaxyz show in Ashbourne Library way back in 2022, and has become a fixture on Garageland live and recorded events including Garageland on RTE 2XM and Garageland Teen Spirit events. He is now just about to launch his first album, and we’ll be supporting Jack further along his career, while he in turn chats to you guys, passing along some of the tricks and pitfalls to the next generation!
The Pop World with Teagan Nolan – Garageland Galaxyz isn’t all about heavy guitars and drums, even though it looks like that sometimes! Teagan Nolan (16) is a great example of what happens when you mix drive and ambition with a talent for making pop music. With several singles already released, and tons of radio play and online presence to her credits, Teagan Nolan is very much on the way up, and she’ll be sharing some of her journey with you guys.
Music Industry tips with Paddy Fogarty – Paddy Fogarty is Garageland’s Production Manager, and he has many years experience in organising festivals, as well as artist management – Paddy will focus on what’s expected from a record label point of view, with tips around band management – Paddy will be taking questions, so feel free!
Hosted by Garageland’s Dermot Lambert – A platinum selling artist as a member of the 90’s and 00’s band Blink – Dermot has played in some of the biggest venues in the world (Wembley Arena, New York Randall’s Island Festival, SXSW Texas), and worked with some of the most famous producers including Gil Norton (Pixies, Breeders), Howie Beno (Ministry, Blondie),and Steve Hillage (Charlatans, Simple Minds), he is also famously connected to Blink 182, as he allowed them to use the ‘182’ in their name. After all this he set up Garageland and created some of the biggest platforms for new music Ireland has ever seen. Dermot knows about being in a band, and how to write a hit song. He also works with RTE 2FM as a series producer for a brand new music show.
We will also be making a Podcast, and inviting attendees to perform a song or two for our cameras for social media!
