Emotions were high on Saturday 9th December 2023 as Sunrocks and Shamflowers delivered a set of beautiful performances from young Irish and Ukrainian musicians in a night of superb collaboration.

Many months in the making, this event showcased the beauty of integration across the cultures in a way that surprised many, with individual performances and group collaborations bringing large numbers of young people together in a shared project.

The finale of the evening was stunning, with the Ukraine Forever Choir playing alongside Ceolteoirí Cluan Tarbh and the entire ensemble of players from the evening, brilliantly led by 14 year old Teagan Nolan in a gripping version of Creep by Radiohead, and an almost heartbreaking version of Zombie by The Cranberries, complete with the Ukrainian call of the final chorus, all led by Garageland’s own Dermot Lambert.

In attendance were many dignitaries and officials from the Dept of Children Equality Disability Integration and Youth and from City of Dublin Youth Services, as well as the Ukrainian Ambassador.
