Garageland Galaxyz at Cruinniú na nÓg – Saturday 7th June
It’s Back for a 4th amazing year!!
This year Garageland Galaxyz is happening two exciting festival locations on the same day
- Samuel Beckett Civic Centre in Ballyogan – Dunlaoire Rathdown (South County Dublin)
- Swords Castle – Fingal (North County Dublin)
Garageland Galaxyz at Cruinniú na nÓg in partnership with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Coco, Fingal Coco and Creative Ireland, is a day of live performances by young musicians aged 12 – 19 (approx) in a professional festival setting, offering young musicians and their peers the opportunity to engage in a dedicated event in an environment that they can express themselves through their music. There will be stages for bands, solo performers, and music ensembles of all types. Parts of the events are filmed and broadcast live, while other parts are broadcasted later. Complete with burger vans, ice cream trucks and coffee stands, and lots of other activities for all ages, this will be a great celebration of the creativity of our young people in a big festival buzz. Our crew will engage with the young artists through interviews and workshops as the day goes along, and it’s a whole load of fun.
All Cruinniú na nÓg events are free to attend, and please bring the whole family!
If you would like to play at Garageland Galaxyz 2025 please write to us at info@garageland.ie simply saying ‘YES GALAXYZ 25’
Our team will contact you and request the following in order to proceed with your performance booking..
- A few lines about your act for our socials (eg Oasis are a five piece band from Manchester who have a great new demo called Supersonic… / or Billie Eilish is a singer songwriter from LA who writes little songs with her brother…that kind of thing.)
- Are all act members under 18 / over 18 / a mix?
- Where do you live (approx area, not actual address)?
- Photo for our socials (doesn’t have to be a professional shot, phone camera quality will be fine).
- Video of performance of one song if possible.
Our main aim with the project is to create performance opportunities for as many young performers as possible, in a professional and exciting festival setting.
- There is no competitive element to Garageland Galaxyz.
- There is no lower limit of set length (in other words if a performer only has one song, that’s ok).
- Maximum set length is 22 minutes for experienced artists, this will be determined on a case by case basis.
- Artists can perform covers – ie not essential to create original material to take part.
- It is a wholly inclusive project with equality, diversity and inclusion at its core.
- We don’t have a formal audition process, although we do need to engage directly with the parents / relevant adults by phone before proceeding with final booking.
- We will request that consent forms are completed, as photography and online video broadcast are elements of the project. We will send the consent forms to the parents / relevant adults.
We are also planning to schedule some advance workshops in advance of 7th June, which you will be invited to attend. These workshops are free, and will include some songwriting and management mentoring, and perhaps some recording. Full detail will follow.
