The excitement! This is part 2 of Restricted Mic Autumn Edition. Young musicians from all over Dublin have taken part in this fantastic project which has been put together by City of Dublin Youth Service Board and Garageland to encourage young artists in this time of need. CDYSB and Garageland announce exciting project for young musicians. In an exciting development for young musicians the City of Dublin Youth Service Board/ City of Dublin Education and Training Board, supported by the Department of Children Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth has teamed up with Garageland to create an online project designed to raise the spirits and focus young creative and artistic minds. Restricted Mic is an online show which goes out live across multiple platforms on Monday 2nd and 9th November at 7pm. The show will feature young musicians playing songs from their various different clubs and projects, or from their homes in the best possible Covid lockdown fashion. Artists will perform original compositions as well as covers of their favourite artists. The young artists will be joined by some well-known peers in the show, with Inhaler, The Pale, Craig Walker & The Code (Dre, Eminem, The Avener, Power of Dreams) all confirmed to take part. The performances are all aided and abetted by youth

Garageland has teamed up with City of Dublin Youth Service Board for 2 more exciting episodes of Restricted Mic! No open mics allowed because of Covid, but that's not stopping us. We are inviting performers of All Ages to send us a video of one song, preferably something you've written yourself (but not essential), and we will consider it for broadcasting on 2nd & 9th November from 7 - 9pm. The broadcast will be simultaneously shown across a range of online platforms including Facebook pages, YouTube chanels and Instagram pages of Garageland, City of Dublin Youth Service Board, RTE 2XM, and then featured on a special Garageland TV Special on www.buzz.ie and The Irish Daily Star. The audio from the show will be simultaneously broadcasted on Garageland on RTE 2XM digital radio. We are accepting videos made on phones. The National Concert Hall played host to the Garageland All Ages Gig today! There was a stellar line up of talented young performers including Time Redacted of Mezzo Music Academy, Dazed, Mod Se7en, Soundstrand, Public Warning and the musicians of SWICN (South West Inner City Network – Hannah, & Kings Of Spades.Playing fantastic renditions of their original songs and incorporating covers like Thin Lizzy’s “Dancing In The Moonlight”, Muse’s “Uprising” & Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good”, the acts rocked out The Studio in The National Concert Hall to a delighted crowd! We hope this will be the first of many All Ages gigs at The National Concert Hall and well done to all involved in today’s show! Rock of All Ages with Garageland & The National Concert Hall - Sat 7th March 2020 - 2.30pm (Matinee show) With openings for 6 bands & solo artists all aged between 12 - 22, this is a great new opportunity for young original bands / solo artists to perform in a very special partnership with Garageland and The Studio Room at Dublin's National Concert Hall. The young artists will also receive some mentoring in advance of their live show from some of Ireland's music industry experts.'
