Winner of 2012’s ‘Best Unsigned Singer-Songwriter in Ireland’ competition and regular recipient of rave reviews, Ross Breen, is back with his first single in eight months. ‘Idyllic Valley’ is a punchy, boisterous folk-soul outing, made to blow the post-Christmas cobwebs off Irish music fans.
‘Idyllic Valley’ is the second single from Ross Breen’s forthcoming new album, ‘New Born Vibrancy’, which is set for release later this year. The Kildare native is currently putting together a string of tour dates to follow previous years’ successes on the road with the likes of Midlake, Glen Hansard and Bell x 1.
Ross is excited about fans hearing his new direction, which is evident on ‘Idyllic Valley’: “I listened to a lot of David Byrne & St. Vincent, Dr. John and acoustic Led Zeppelin while making this new record and was inspired by the direct approach of the music. Writing and recording Idyllic Valley,
I wanted to create something joyful, universal and positive, matching the folk structure with some good-time New Orleans brass that’s on so many records I love.”
Idyllic Valley is out now on iTunes.
